Suman Malagkit Recipe
Give yourself a good treat to this native Filipino snack recipe called suman malagkit, primarily made from glutinous rice wrapped around with banana leaves.

Ingredients
- 1 kg glutinous rice
- 1 cup black rice
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 2 cup sugar (brown or white)
- 6 cups coconut milk
- banana leaves for wrapping
Directions

In a bowl, mix glutinous rice and black rice together. Soak in water for 2 hours then drain well.

While waiting, prepare the banana leaves wrap by cutting 10 by 7 inches banana sheets. Shortly pass the banana leaves over flames for 10 seconds. Set aside.

In a deep pan, mix coconut milk, sugar and salt over medium heat and stir well. Add glutinous rice and cook for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally until the coconut milk is completely absorbed.

Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes. Put 2 tablespoons of the glutinous rice into the banana leaf. Roll the leaf tightly and leave 1-2 inches on top and bottom side. Fold the top and bottom side to seal the wrap.

Steam over boiling water for 40 minutes.

Best served hot and paired with white sugar, hot chocolate drink or mangoes.
