This no-bake dessert recipe is one of the sweetest and best recipes to try for those who don't have oven at home or apartments. It is very delicious and it uses ingredients that can be easily bought at any local markets. Mango is a popular and common tropical fruit. When I made this recipe, I used a 9x13 glass pan and I was able to get 3 layers of graham crackers, 4 layers of cream and 4 layers of mango fruit.

Mango float or commonly known as well as Mango Graham cake is a cold layered cake originated in the Philippines. It is made of layered mangoes, milk, graham crackers and crashed graham cracker. Set in the fridge for few hours and served cold in serving slices. Its main ingredients are sweet ripe mangoes, condensed milk, all-purpose cream, graham crackers and crashed graham crackers.

Mango Float’s Primary Ingredients – Mangoes and Graham Crackers.

Mango float is a cold layered cake primarily made of two major ingredients; mangoes and graham crackers. Finding these ingredients won’t be a problem since they are very much available in any convenient stores and supermarket. And mangoes are very much available in tropical countries, since it is a tropical fruit. Mangoes also brings a lot of advantages to one’s health since it is a good source of potassium and magnesium, which both help to lower blood pressure and regular pulse, as well as helps in stabilizing our digestive system. But take note over eating mangoes can cause diarrhea so eat it in moderation.

On the other hand, we have the second major ingredient which is the graham crackers. I am sure, you are quite familiar with this type of biscuit since it is sold commonly in small convenient stores and in supermarket. It is also sold crashed in very fine texture, which are used as well in making mango float. This cracker is originated in United States in the mid 19th century. This food is also heart-friendly and are made with ingredients that are low in calories.

Tips and Tricks

  • To know whether mangoes are artificially ripened or not, put the mangoes in a bucket of water, if the mangoes sink, they are naturally ripened. If they float, they are artificially harvested.
  • Mangoes may cause spike in blood sugar levels when consumed in large amount due to its high sugar content, so make sure to consume with moderation.
  • To identify a sweet mango, choose the one with dark yellow in color. You can also smell it, a sweet ripe mangoes can be identified through its sweet aroma.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Graham Crackers (200g)
  • 1 medium sized condensed milk
  • 2 cups all purpose cream (2 small boxes)
  • 3 medium size fresh ripe mangoes

Directions

  1. Cut mangoes in bite size pieces carefully carving out the mango pit. Set aside the mangoes in a separate bowl

  2. Whip the all purpose cream until it slightly stiffens and forms peaks when lifting the whip. Slowly add condensed milk and stir gently until evenly combined and set aside your milk mixture.

  3. Using an 8" x 8" glass pan or any container available, start assembling your mango float by following the steps below:

    • Add graham crackers on the bottom of the pan, enough cover the entire pan.
    • Spread a layer of the cream mixture over the graham crackers.
    • Add a thin layer of mango pieces.
    • Add graham crackers again, then cream, mango and repeat process.

  4. Repeat steps 3 until all of the ingredients are used. Just add in layers - mango graham, cream mixture, and mango.

  5. Finally, I added a sprinkle of crushed grahams on top. This step is optional.

  6. Cover pan and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until mixture is set. This may also be refrigerated overnight.
